At the moment

I'm currently working with a range of UK and international organisations including RNIB, UNHCR, OECD and CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA on strategic fundraising reviews and identification of fundraising potential, particularly among major donors.

I work mainly with senior staff teams to develop fundraising strategy and communicate it across the organisation and to the Board. I also deliver training sessions and coaching to fundraising staff and for directors of organisations without a formal fundraising structure. I combine my own experience with =mc's innovative tools and approaches.

I am also one of the trainers on the National Arts Fundraising School where I run tailor-made courses in areas such as major donor fundraising.

I’m just finishing an interesting postgraduate course from Cass Business School on Philanthropy & Social Investment.

Before =mc

I spent a couple of years overseas before coming back to the UK and taking a volunteer community fundraising job for a London charity while working in a pub in the evenings to pay the rent. That was over ten years ago. Soon afterwards I dropped the evening job and became The Environment Council’s first ever fundraiser, specialising mainly in corporate relationships.

I have since worked in trust fundraising for Care International, major donor fundraising with Shelter, capital campaign management (with another consultancy) for the RSA and fundraising management for Green Alliance.

I’ve also spent time as a trustee of a women’s refuge which, having worked with board of Trustees in various ways over the years, gave me insight into governance from the inside.

The Management Centre allows me to build on all this experience and tap into the expertise of colleagues with quite different skills, all of which I find invaluable in helping organisations to develop and grow in fundraising.
