Manage your time and workload effectively

Managing Multiple Priorities focuses on promoting personal effectiveness through individual learning and change. Based on the work of a range of effectiveness experts – from Steven Covey to Alan Lakein – participants identify practical solutions not only for themselves, but for their teams.

 

  I wanted specific tools to address my time management and procrastination issues. This programme provided these and is having a lasting impact on my work. I am now much productive and my procrastination is under control!

Core modules

  • Managing time effectively: create your personal time management system, establishing daily routine and good habits
  • Balancing decision bases: there are two key decision bases - 'what' and 'when'. Learn to balance these and identify tools to handle any conflict
  • Coping with overload: establish sources of overload, set priorities against deadlines, deal with multiple challenges
  • Setting achievable goals: set breakthrough SMARTer goals
  • Identifying personal focus and Key Result Areas (KRAs): identify your personal mission, break it down into KRAs
  • Setting priorities: distinguish important/urgent, make decisions quickly, use creative priority handling techniques
  • Working with others: delegate effectively, strategies to reduce interruptions and deal with ‘time bandits’
  • Using Covey's matrix: understand how to focus and direct your energies towards high output activities

 

Learning approaches

This programme focuses on individual learning and change. You'll undertake a number of activities on your own and take part in small group work.
